There are many health benefits of carrots. Here are a few which will let you why carrot consumption is actually good for health.

Decreases the chances of Cancer

\n

Carrots contain beta-carotene. Eating vegies higher in beta-carotene reduces the risk of lung cancer. A study conducted in Japan on 829 people showed that beta-carotene also reduces the risks of colon cancer. Carrot has antioxidant power which detoxifies the body of the radical elements and reduces cancer risk.

Improves eye-sight

\n

As a child, our mother used to tell us to eat out carrots to see in the night. It’s actually true because carrots contain Vitamin A which improves our eye-sight. Eating carrots can help prevent exophthalmia which results in night blindness or inability to see in low light in the dark.

Carrots to lose-weight

\n

Carrots are low in calories. A cup of carrot contains only 50 calories. If you intend to burn fat and lower your daily intake of calories, a carrot is an ideal choice.

While steamed carrots are a bit high in calorie, canned carrots have only 37 calories per cup.

Improves skin health

\n

Carrots help to have a glowing skin. The beta-carotene, lutein, and lycopene remove the dark skin cells from under the skin to reveal the glow.
